Illuminated by the soft glow of thousands of twinkling candles, this delightful Candlelight Concert series is part of Willoughby City Council’s flagship cultural program, Chatswood Culture Bites, which offers a rich array of activities and events, exhibitions and live music performances. The stunningly designed precinct of The Concourse will create a beautiful backdrop for this magical 90-minute experience, perfect for music lovers of all kinds. Each of the concerts will see The Concourse come alive with the harmonious melodies of talented musicians, including the likes of classical flutist, Jane Rutter, operatic bass-baritone, Teddy Tahu Rhodes; CINTA band; Candlelight String Ensemble featuring Ash Quartet and more. Whether you're a classical music aficionado or simply enjoy an evening of soul-stirring entertainment, this concert series is sure to captivate guests of all ages.

As part of this event, a stunning display of candle installations will adorn the path from Chatswood Station all the way to The Concourse, through the Chatswood Mall Market. This visually striking arrangement of candles will create a captivating and enchanting journey for attendees as they make their way to the event. The Chatswood Mall Market will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night in conjunction with the concert series, providing a bustling multi-cultural food bazaar where Sydneysiders can explore an array of diverse, culinary delights. Having wowed audiences in more than 100 cities worldwide including Paris, New York, Madrid, Melbourne and Sydney, Candlelight Concerts are a series of original music concerts aimed at democratising access to culture by allowing people all over the world to enjoy live candlelit performances by local musicians in various stunning locations.

Admission to the special Candlelight Concert series at The Concourse is free for all to attend. The concerts will commence at 6:00pm each night, however, guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot. Low-back chairs and BYO food and drinks are permitted.

Figaro! Figaro! Figaro! Brilliant bass-baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes and acclaimed flutist Jane Rutter in a musical celebration of popular and classical hits: Rossini, Mozart, Piaf, Le Cancan, Bizet’s Carmen, Les Miserables, Rogers and Hammerstein... Featuring Jane’s beautiful classical and world flutes, fifes and whistles, Teddy sings Celtic folksongs and best-loved arias. Accompanied by popular pianist, John Martin, these superb Australian soloists return to the stage illuminated by candlelight.

CINTA Band by the glow of candlelight.

A manifestation of incomparable soul. Breaking away from the family for a moments contemplation, CINTA Band revives the spirit of a time when soul held supreme. Featuring an ensemble of some of Sydney’s most eclectic musicians this group brings you a powerful and fresh jazz and soul experience. A black coffee by day and red wine by night experience bringing you a sound soaked in love and fervour, hypnotic in its raw and emotive draw.

Candlelight movie soundtracks featuring Ash Quartet

Enjoy some of the world's best known movie soundtracks by Joe Hisaishi and Hans Zimmer, performed by the talented Ash Quartet.

Founded in 2018 at the Sydney Conservatorium, the Ash Quartet (Marrianne Liu, Eva Li, Dana Lee and Sebastian Mansell) has since performed throughout Australia and overseas. Recipients of the Westheimer Fellowship in 2021, the quartet has taken out first place in the chamber division at Verão Clássico 2019 (Lisbon) and was a finalist in the Queensland International Chamber Music Competition in the same year.
